About the Injuries
Two of Country Tonite’s favorite celebrity performers were recovering from injuries last January. Mickey Gilley sustained a fractured right shoulder and a fractured left ankle in a car accident on January 3, 2018. In an unrelated incident during the same week, Loretta Lynn fell and broke her hip. Both stars are in good spirits following their respective injuries.
Here at Country Tonite, we are are keeping Mickey and Loretta in our thoughts and prayers, and we know that their millions of fans around the world are doing the same. Below, we have compiled all of the information we know about Mickey and Loretta recovering.
Mickey Gilley’s Car Accident
Mickey Gilley was traveling back to Branson, Missouri with his son Michael, when their SUV rolled over three times off the interstate near Corrigan, Texas. Another driver had run a stop sign, which forced Michael to swerve away from the oncoming car. Unfortunately, this unexpected maneuver caused Michael to inadvertently clip another vehicle and ultimately lose control of the SUV.
As reported by CMT News, Mickey Gilley fractured his shoulder and ankle during the incident. His son Michael was bruised, but otherwise fine. The day after the accident, Mickey Gilley posted a video to Facebook to update his fans on his condition.
In the video, Gilley says, “I am having a hard time walking because I have a big boot on my left leg. But other than that I’m doing pretty good. To be 81 years old and put myself through what I’ve been through, it’s kind of tough sometimes on the old man, but I don’t intend to retire. I will be out there on the road, and I’ll see you real soon.”
Mickey had to reschedule his January 6 show in Greenville, Texas, but went through with his upcoming concert at the Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale, Florida on January 20, 2018. Mickey Gilley last performed at the Country Tonite Theatre in October of 2017, when he appeared with Johnny Lee.

Thank you for your love, prayers and continued support!
Love you! Love you, Sis!

Lynn’s 41st studio album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, was released in late September 2018. The legendary artist last performed at Country Tonite in December of 2016.
