Meet Shelton Tison: The Youngest Star of Our Pigeon Forge Live Music Show
Some folks are just natural born performers, and that’s certainly the case with the youngest cast member at Country Tonite! Shelton Tison joined our cast in 2015, and his incredible voice and stage presence have made him a fan favorite at our Pigeon Forge live music show. Joining the banjo virtuoso Willow Osborne as one of our featured youth performers, Shelton has been the perfect addition to our roster of talented musicians. Read on to learn all about Shelton and his impressive resume.
A Family Tradition
Shelton’s interest in performing was sparked by his older brothers, Thomas-Allan and Jonathan, who are both very active in the Knoxville area theater community. Both Thomas-Allan and Jonathan have performed at the University of Tennessee’s Clarence Brown Theatre, and Jonathan starred in the 2011 production of Dollywood’s Sha-Kon-O-Hey. After spending numerous hours watching his brothers’ rehearse and perform, Shelton decided that he wanted to get on stage too!
From Opera to Country
While Shelton mostly sings country tunes at our Pigeon Forge live music show, he actually made his theatre debut at an opera! At the age of 5, Shelton played a ghost child in the University of Tennessee’s presentation of Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the historic Bijou Theatre in Knoxville.
Since his first foray into the world of theatre, Shelton has performed in a number of shows. He has played Tiny Tim multiple times in the Clarence Brown Theatre’s productions of A Christmas Carol. Shelton was also part of the cast of the Cumberland County Playhouse’s The Music Man.
An Amazing Voice
When we cast Shelton at Country Tonite, we were hugely impressed by his vocal talent. For such a young singer, he has exceptional pitch. Shelton has received extensive voice and dance training, and it has clearly paid off!
